Well the Garden has been especially productive this year: congrats to Eddy Nahmias and family, who welcomed a new addition on March 3, Eve Kopec Nahmias. Eddy reports that Eve is both healthy and, most importantly, cute!
Congrats to you and your family, Eddy!

Thanks for the warm wishes. I have to say that I wasn't sure about the name Eve until my wife, Cheryl, pointed out that she was the first person with free will (in the story at least).
And even if she had a robust enough sort of freedom for her choice to bring her (and all her descendents) pain and suffering, she didn't have true free will until she had eaten from the tree of Knowledge (yes, even the writers of the Bible understood that free will involves various types of knowledge!).

What a wondrous child!! (Said supposedly of my own FW, but tempted by offer of her obvious beauty! Was Eve her namesake likewise the first instance of weakness of will??) Congratulations on a gift beyond the mere measure of our meager philosophical proportions!!

Quick, before her intuitions get slanted, ask her what her views about compatibilism are. She looks like a compatibilist!
Congratulations, Eddy!

Congratulations, Eddy! Enjoy. It kinda looks like she is listening in wonder to your heartbeat, or your breath, or something.
